It is essential to recognise the efforts of all teachers who impart a wealth of knowledge to their students as doing so, it encourages their ongoing involvement and affirmation.
In this regard, one of our dedicated teacher, Samuel conferred with the coveted “Anugerah Harapan Merdeka 2022” by Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah which was held on 19th August at Grand Hyatt Hotel, in conjunction with the Merdeka Award Trust’s 15th anniversary.
The 34-year-old received this award as recognition for his work and dedication in improving and raising the standard of education for Orang Asli children and coaching teachers to raise the standard of education for everyone.
Furthermore, Samuel is the first individual to win this inaugural award in a new category which was introduced this year.
This new category recognises the efforts of Malaysians who are 40 years old and below, or organisations which have been incepted for less than 10 years, that have contributed to Malaysian society.
Merdeka Award
Held once every 2 years, the Merdeka Award is presented to individuals and organisations who are recognised and rewarded for their outstanding accomplishments and ongoing efforts to shape Malaysia on its path of continuous progress, and serve as an inspiration for Malaysians to persevere in the face of adversity, working with others to create a sustainable impact.
Taking to his social media account, the teacher conveyed his appreciation for this prestigious recognition.
Today, it was an honour to be the recipient of the Anugerah Harapan Merdeka 2022. “I was very nervous when I learnt of this nomination and even more nervous to give my speech at the award today.
“I often feel unworthy to receive all of these awards but, I am slowly learning to embrace this and hopefully, I serve as an inspiration for young educators out there.” the dedicated teacher expressed.
While thanking his family and friends for being the major pillar of support and also the team at Pemimpin GSL, Isaiah said “When I left school, I knew that if I wanted to do more, I couldn’t do it alone. Working with this team has given me the strength and support I need to go further in my pursuit of quality education for all children.”
Not to forget, he also expressed his gratitude to all of his board members, partners and funders at Pemimpin GSL, and the rest who supported his work and helped him to advance the noble cause.
I promise to keep trying, to keep failing and to always do my best with the ‘Amanah’ that has been given to me –
