Indeed a great Merdeka celebration for us as we keep witnessing Malaysians shine at international and national levels. With that being said, recently two Malaysians have successfully paved their way to ASIA awards.

The Founder of ChefDave VeganJourney, Kalidevan, who is better known as Chef Dave has recently bagged Asia’s Best Vegan Chef along with the Creative Influence Award 2022-2023.

By having plenty of knowledge and skills, Dave has started his first Malaysian Plant-Based Cuisine Academy to educate and help Malaysian home cooks about the benefits of a plant-based diet and lifestyle.

After losing his job as a cruise liner chef in March last year, he decided to take the leap of faith and start a social media career devoted to his journey of being a vegan, watching documentaries about animal agriculture and its harmful effects on the environment.

Hailing from Segamat, Johor, Chef Dave is a through-and-through foodie. After a stint of 7 years working in the kitchens of 5 Star hotels, he switched jobs to work as a western cuisine chef on a Disney Cruise line.

The second recipient of Asia Awards, Malaysia Managing Director of Mercu Cita Resources, Thanamani Mariappan has been also honoured with the Asia’s International Expansion Award for the year 2021/2022.

Women rock! Nuff said..

Thanamani is among the Malaysian women who stand out in male-dominated fields. The mother of three has established Sai Ram Enterprise which ventures successfully into the laundry business as well as Mercu Cita Resources which is involved in international trade establishing business relationships not only with India but also with Turkey, Vietnam, and Myanmar.

The ASIA Awards, powered by RULA Awards, have become a global benchmark for corporate excellence. Today, no other Business Award receives the same level of recognition and adoration from peers as the ASIA Awards does.

It serves yet as the best platform to look for inspiration from those who have succeeded through tough times. They may look average in your eyes, but not to us.

Congratulations to the amazing souls who have placed Malaysia in the world map!
