Following a riveting battle between the top five finalists, Og Bangerz has been crowned the winner of Rap Porkalam Season 2, clinching a RM20,000 cash award, followed by Sheran G and DarCiva in the second and third place respectively.
With this, these top three Rap Porkalam Season 2 winners have shared their experiences, future goals, and more.
Og Bangerz
Speaking enthusiastically about the tremendous win, the champion of Rap Porkalam Season 2, Og Bangerz said his 13 years of consistent hard work had finally paid off while expressing “I’m extremely happy to be the champion of Rap Porkalam Season 2, especially in the presence of my idols, Yogi B, Emcee Jesz, Saint TFC and Sheezay. I will cherish this moment as my lifetime achievement.”
The 25-year-old remarked that he was able to make it through despite this being his debut stage performance, proving to audiences that hardwork will always pay off.
Noting his best performance throughout this season, this Klang clan said “For me, all my performances were equally good as I learnt from my mistakes each time and corrected them. That helped me improve my performance and become the champion of this rap competition.”
The lightning-speed rapper who idolises Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, Yogi B, Emcee Jesz, Saint TFC and Sheezay said he has lots of future plans and hopes to execute it soon. In the meantime, he also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all of his supporters, and he looks forward to their continuous support in time to come.
Sheran G
First and foremost, the 1st Runner Up of this show, Sheran G wanted to thank Astro and Mojo Projects for giving him this huge opportunity. Sharing about clinching the 2nd place in this fierce battle, he said “Obviously, it was a roller coaster ride, yet I feel proud about all those sleepless nights, sweat and tears that finally helped me stand where I am now. I would say, it was a platform which I consider a turning point in my life.”
Hailing from Ampang, this young lad revealed that his cherished performance would be the one during the second semifinal “During this performance, I had a chance to perform along with ‘The Jagats’, one of the finest bands in town. It gave me a different experience and energy on stage.”
The 26-year-old rapper who is also a singer in a live band said he has always adored and enjoyed the vibes of live instruments. Through these double skills he possesses, he said “I am planning to infuse more Indian and Western traditional instruments in my future songs. I hope by doing this, more musicians will be inspired to up their standards.”
Furthermore, Sheran mentioned “We have always looked up to artists from other countries. But now, it’s time for a change. Do support our homegrown talents as there are many talents seeking your support and love.”
DarCiva
DarCiva who is known for his peculiar voice and rapping throughout this season has clinched 3rd place in this competition. He who is happy with this feat said he will focus more on achieving his goals.
“In time to come, I hope to come up with songs that would be beneficial,” the 27-year-old rapper remarked, aiming to make everyone proud and to take this art to the next level, even on the international scene.
Looking up at Yogi B, Roshan Jamrock, Lil Wayne and Arivu as inspiration, DarCiva concludes “This is my promise: I will not rest until I succeed.
