Former Long-Serving Malaysian Minister, Tun S. Samy Vellu Passes Away At 86

A piece of devastating news for all Malaysians!

The Former President of MIC and Malaysia’s longest serving Cabinet minister in the Malaysian Cabinet, Tun S. Samy Vellu passed away early this morning at the age of 86.

According to his son Datuk Seri S Vell Paari, his dad breathed his last peacefully in his sleep at his residence.

Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, the former MIC president, and Segamat MP has taken to his Facebook page to express his condolence on the passing of the party’s longest-serving president.

The late Samy Vellu once said:

The Indian community is a small community, but not a silent community. – Tun S. Samy Vellu 

The seventh MIC president who is fondly known as the iron man of the party, came up with new ideas to improve the development of communities and nations. Thank you for the valuable support and enthusiasm given over so many years. Rest in Power, Tun!
