Can you believe it has been nearly three years since Covid-19 first landed on Malaysian shores? The world has seen a shift in working lifestyle, the economy, medicine, and beyond due to the outbreak.

With that being said, MISIMAK – a brand new local short film has recently garnered the attention of netizens around social media platforms, and the writer would say that it was indeed a tear-jerking storyline.

Helmed and penned by Deepak Fain, MISIMAK aims to pay tribute to these homegrown frontliners by depicting the tale of ordinary Malaysians who put their lives on the line to help others during these uncertain moments.

The writer’s perspective:

Isn’t it difficult to relate to Hanita’s character, especially those who are married or have children in the house?

Every day, those selfless warriors are giving their all in healthcare priorities by cutting themselves off from their families and loved ones. The sacrifice that they are making for the safety and welfare of humanity is priceless and deserves lifelong gratitude on our end. At this point, nothing will be a greater tribute to the healthcare workers than this.

Bannered by Spike Productions associated with RJV Entertainment / RJ Vengkat Khan, the short flick features a star-studded cast namely Puveneswary, Then Sabari, Fadil Bin Hj Mat Said, Sattia Nadesan, Zulhimli, Siti Nur Mareisya, Naventhiran, and Shahidatul Azwah Binti Asri.
