In all its glory, Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta did serve some disappointments to us too, especially when Trisha and Simran were not given equal screen time in the movie.

We have our hopes high again today after production company, All In Pictures, made an official announcement that Simran and Trisha will be in Sumanth Radhakrishnan’s next multi-starrer film.

We are happy and proud to announce our next venture #Productionno4 featuring @trishtrashers and @SimranbaggaOffc – An Action Adventure directed by @MemyselfSRK … Further updates to follow soon!#SimTrishsNxT. pic.twitter.com/Ju9EAdHkBB

The duo last appeared on screen together almost 20 years ago, when Trisha made a cameo appearance in the 1999 film Jodi as Simran’s friend.

Simran and Trisha will be playing the roles of sisters in this action adventure film. Sumanth Radhakrishnan previously made Sadhuram 2, a remake of the movie Saw, in 2016.

When asked about his next Simran-Trisha film, Sumanth said, “This is a unique script, with water playing a big part in this adventure film. When I wrote the script, I felt I needed to cast leading actresses, who have mutual admiration for each other. Then it struck me that I can cast Trisha and Simran. They both like each other and share an easy camaraderie on the set. I first went with the script to Simran. She really loved it and gave me a lot of references. Trisha, too, liked the script a lot. And that’s how they came on board. Trisha and Simran will play siblings. This is not a drama, but a commercial outing with special stunts”.

The shooting of this film will commence in March. More updates to come.
