It’s a great loss indeed!

Malaysia is mourning the death of Petaling Jaya City senior defender Rajesh Perumal who died in an accident near Batu Caves here today. The news was confirmed by PJ City and the Professional Footballers’ Association of Malaysia (PFAM) through an official statement posted on Twitter.

Coach P. Maniam described his demise as a huge loss to the club and entire football team in Malaysia. 

“It is very devastating to hear about his death early in the morning. On the other side, his youngest child is only eight months old,”  Maniam told  to NST today.

Playing for Malaysia Super League club Petaling Jaya City as a right-back, the 37-year-old professional football player succumbed to a severe head injury earlier today. Upon the news of his passing, netizens and football clubs in Malaysia extended sincere condolences to Rajesh’s family.

Throughout his career, the father of three kids played for PJ City since 2018, following with the now-defunct PKNS, Selangor, and Kedah. Having said that, he was also part of the PKNS team that was the Premier League champions in 2011 and FA Cup runners-up in 2016.
