Things escalated pretty quickly at The Malaysian Education Forum as a passionate former school principal decided to confront Malaysia Education Minister, Maszlee Malik, regarding the regressing state of the education system.
In a passionate exchange of dialogue, Mr V Chakaravathy who taught Maths and Additional Maths in secondary school, decided to lash out at the Malaysian education system, stating that the system had “hit rock bottom”.
V Chakaravathy pointed on the declining qualities of teachers that consequently forced parents to send their children for tuition classes. He proceeded to make comparisons of the Malaysian education system to that of developed nations such as Finland and Japan.
The former principal also suggested that homework was an increased burden to student. Any form of homework should be completed at schools under the supervision of teachers. Currently, the video has been shared over 11,000 times.

Netizens are applauding the bold confrontation made by V Chakaravathy. The Malaysian Education Forum was organised by the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI) and had 200 participants join in on the dialogue themed ‘Bridging The Gaps’.
