Our very own Malaysia karate prowess has made us proud again!

Recently, our national karate athlete, C Shahmalarani shines magnificently by bagging Malaysia’s first-ever Gold medal at the World Karate Federation (WKF) Series A (K1) International Karate Championships which was held in Jakarta. The 24-year-old athlete has crowned the Champion after besting five intense fights and also defeating Annisa Nur Anggraini in Female Kumite -50kg at the final.

God’s timing is always perfect! 🤍 – Shahmalarani

This is not the first time this young lass has made us proud, she brought home a Gold medal on her debut on the international stage, Hanoi SEA Games 2021 in Vietnam and has continuously showcased outstanding performances ever since. She continues to win various championships including the 2022 ASEAN University Games, the Finnish Open and now K1 Series A Indonesia.

Sharing this good news through her Instagram, Shahmalarani took this opportunity to thank all the pillars that made this feat possible;

She also extends her gratitude to Institut Sukan Negara Malaysia, the Olympic Council of Malaysia, the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and not forgetting her supportive coaches Shihan Arivalagan, Coach Puvan and Coach Senthil for guiding her all the way to her win today.

Speaking about her win, the talented athlete said this medal means a lot to her in this karate journey.

The gold medalist also hinted about her forthcoming tournament.

That’s not all, saving the best for the last. More updates are coming soon! – Shahmalarani

This karateka is expected to be taking another significant tournament before closing the curtain on this year, which is the Asian Karate Championship in Uzbekistan next month.

Thank you Shahmalarani for continuing to make us beam with pride. Best wishes for your upcoming tournament in Uzbekistan!
