Amazing talents are outshone by some Independent filmmakers. With that, here is another splendid short film by our talented bunch of youngsters.
Neram Kalam is derived from the Tamil word that means – Time and situation. As usual, every film’s important element is the title, and this short film somehow attracted the writer to watch and urged her to know about the story. Neram Kalam Tamil Short Film sets a genre of teen comedy and love. This short film delivers an amazing comedy sense and a great message spread, a big kudos to the director S. Ashwin.

The short film revolves around two friends Akash and Dineskumar. Dinesh in a call expresses to Akash his excitement in meeting the girl his been online dating for 5 years. Akash on the other side while waiting for Dinesh, flirts with a random girl and gets rejected. Dhiviyaa Rathi plays a dual role – one as the girl who rejects Akash and another as Dhinesh’s online love.
In the first part of the story where Akash got rejected, Dhiviyaa advises him to not rush into love and wait for the right time. In this scene, a special appearance was made by Murugan Mogan. Murugan Mogan’s role-playing as the security of the mall turns out to be the love of Dhiviyaa. And when Akash said- “ why do you settle for someone so less Dhiviyaa in return replied ‘loving a person is not based on appearance but based on how that person fills your heart’.
In the second part of the story, Dinesh arrives and introduces Akash to the wrong girl (the girl who seems to be alike the girl he dated). And then both got to know the twist was that the girl Dinesh dated and the girl that Akash got rejected were twin sisters.
Towards the climax, Dinesh finally got happy he met his dream girl and before he could express his further feelings, Dhiviyaa says it’s too late as she’s about to get engaged. The story then brings to an end where due to the heartbreak and disappointment, he had fell prey to alcohol consumption. Later when Akash joined the drinking session he said- Time is the reason for everything, guess this wasn’t our time, leaving a great message to the audience.
Every scene was shot with hilarious concepts to it. The production crew made a great effort to cleverly pick the concept of the script and the screenplay. The background music and sound effects were very well organized and the audio produced was flawless. Now we can speak about the acting skills of every actor. Every one of the characters was well indulged and naturally acted to their role.
Congratulations to the film crew for making a film with a good script and an amazing screenplay with splashes of humor bits.
