The most awaited Tamil film of the year beckons and the trailer is out. Staying true to his stellar filmmaking, director Thiagarajan Kumararaja brings us the trailer of Super Deluxe, one that teases the viewer and leaves us with an unquenchable thirst for the release of the film. Super Deluxe is going to be one helluva ride.
Vijay Sethupathi is the highlight of Super Deluxe, and putting him in the garb of a transwoman has certainly alleviated his appeal. He narrates the trailer, with a voice just shy of a whisper, and we already know that something massive is going to happen over the next two minutes.
Sethupathi tells us the story of a man who is in a tough spot. He repeats the story with a new detail added in on every round with renewed speed and intonation, pushing us to a point where we’re eager to know what the man chooses to do.
As the trailer progresses, we are reminded of the teaser of the Super Deluxe, Samantha’s Vaembu chopping of someone’s head with a cleaver, shown in multiple cuts (pun intended), with each cut revealing a little more detail than before.
Throughout the voiceover, are shown shots of Samantha, Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin and the rest of the characters. And rest assured, there is plenty of swearing, sex and murdering. Also, there is a creepy kid who keeps smiling, the stuff of nightmares.
Super Deluxe looks to be a must watch, and with a stunner of a trailer like this one, we are in for a real treat. The film releases on the 29th of March.
