Covid no longer dominates most of our lives the way it previously did. However, there are threats that covid can bring especially during this time as it steadily rises nationwide. 

It’s the holiday season and with the new year around the corner, many might have plans to travel abroad to satisfy the year-end bucket list. Whereas some, just need a getaway before the 2023 commitments that await. 

To help you plan your holiday the right way, here are some countries to avoid traveling to due to the tremendous covid rise. 

JAPAN

Japan is reporting more than 200,000 new cases each day amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the first time a single day’s total has surpassed the 200,000 mark since August 25. This was recently reported by the health authorities of the country.

UNITED STATES

The United States is also witnessing a sudden surge in COVID cases. If reports are to go by, the United States has reported more than 1.5 mil cases in the past 28 days. As such, the total number of cases registered in the country since 2020 passed the 100 million mark on December 21, as per the data.

SOUTH KOREA

South Korea logged more than 68 thousand cases as of now, including 95 cases from overseas. If reports are to go by, today’s count is up by about 1200 cases from a week ago. Reportedly, the daily cases have been registering a steady growth for the past several weeks amid a winter wave.

CHINA

China is experiencing the greatest virus outbreak that has severely affected the elderly. It all started in China in 2019 and is once again plagued by the rising number of COVID cases. This has worried the rest of the world, which is gearing up to impose strict travel restrictions and introduce aggressive testing norms.

BRAZIL

Brazil started reporting a high number of COVID cases in recent weeks. Also stated that it is still not yet able to determine if the new cases were related to the now Omicron sub-variants.

As per the reports, France has also reported more than 1 million cases in the past 28 days and is one of the countries where COVID cases are shooting up with every passing day. It is best that you avoid traveling to this country too as of now.
