In today’s era, education for human beings is essential for every living being. It’s like a mandatory element that a person needs to possess. In light of that, one of our bright student is poised to soar high and unlock another level in his academic career.
Hailing from Perak, the brilliant student Pravin Vejan has been selected to participate in the Canada – ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) by the Government of Canada at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
Pravin was awarded this scholarship for his research on formulating a sustainable and environmentally friendly controlled-release urea fertilizer aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. He will be spending a semester at McGill University working with Prof Moores in the Department of Chemistry. Thus, this experience and exposure will provide him with valuable resources and networking opportunities to benefit his future research pathway significantly.
The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program provide opportunities for students from ASEAN member states to conduct short-term study or research in Canadian post-secondary institutions helmed under Global Affairs Canada’s International Scholarships Program. Furthermore, the students can collaborate with leading scholars in areas that contribute to implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and gain exposure to new perspectives in their field.
According to the Concerned UM Indian Graduates (CUMIG) Facebook page, Pravin is a full-time PhD scholar from the Institute of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, University of Malaya.
He has made significant contributions to Biology and Green Chemistry through numerous innovations and research publications during his postgraduate years.
