Elderly M. Krishnan & R. Ramesh Proves That Age Is No Hindrance For Them To Pursue Higher Education

To the one who is still thinking about continuing your studies, well this serves as a best inspiration for you.

“There is no age limit for learning. If you have the willingness and the correct attitude to learn something, age becomes just a number.”

This phrase best represent the story you are about to delve in right now.

Recently, two elderly men stole the limelight on social media for their desire took a deeper interest in pursuing their higher education.

On 3rd of February, M Krishnan (77) and R Ramesh (56), the determined senior scholars from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) sat for their first end-of-semester paper. They both have enrolled for Bachelor of Laws degree in that university in October last year.

Speaking to Ramesh, he told that he felt a little pressure because it has been a long time since he sat for the exam. However, this passionate student remained calm and answered well.

“The last time I sat for the exam was 37 years ago, which was in 1986 for the STPM examination and now I returned to the hall for my first exam for the Degree,” he continued.

The father of three said that the first semester’s study journey was satisfactory, and he even got good support and cooperation from lecturers and classmates.

“I haven’t studied for a long time, at first there was a problem to adjust but the lecturers and classmates gave a lot of support and cooperation,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Krishnan expressed it is quite difficult for him to divide his time because he has to focus on work and family.

However, this Philomath man still strives to achieve his goal to fulfill his dream of becoming a lawyer.

“I have to divide my time well between family, work and classes and for these final exams.” Krishnan remarked.

“I am determined to do my best to achieve my dream of graduating with distinction,” he said, who is expected to graduate after four years.
