Hard work always pays off, whatever you do – Dustin Lynch
It is a pleasure to see Malaysians being honoured and recognised for their contributions to nation-building, their communities, and their country.
Having that said, Arvend Applasamy was recently been bestowed with the “Anugerah Perdana Belia Award 2022” for Men’s Individual Category at the National Youth Prime Award Presentation Ceremony, which was presided over by YB Hannah Yeoh, Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Sports. This award aims to encourage youth to continue providing their contribution towards the nation development.
Arvend is the youngest child of newspaper vendor Mr. Applasamy Subramaniam, and former Sg Bernam estate clerk Mrs. Sarkuna Devi. Since he was in his teens, he had an interest in young community activities and began participating as a volunteer with the Bagan Datuk District Youth Council, Malaysia Indian Youth Council Perak state Chairman and President of Malaysia Indian Student Front.
They say that good things will come to fruition – a few years ago, he was elected to serve two consecutive terms as the Perak State Youth Assemblyman and was given the position of Chairman of the Committee.
Additionally, the YAB Menteri Besar Perak awarded him with the title of “Tokoh Belia Negeri Perak”.
Not only that, this proud descendant of Bagan Datuk has represented Malaysia at the national level in 12 nations to take part in youth initiatives and the Global Youth Parliament. Arvend also awarded the prestigious title of ‘Dr APJ Young Servant Award 2021’ by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam People Welfare in Tamil Nadu.
For his efforts in social work and international relations, he has also received 5 international awards.
Congratulations on your remarkable achievement. Here’s to you continuing your winning streak. Keep up the good work Arvend!
