Have you watched Vaathi? If not -you are so missing so much of beautiful hidden messages the director has treasured in this film.

Throughout the film, Dhanush highlights various aspects of the education system that require reform, emphasizing the need for change to benefit students and their families. In this article, the writer has listed the top 5 great messages in this film- check it out :

Dhanush trying to reform the education system

In “Vaathi,” Dhanush’s character Bala emphasizes the need for education to be treated as a fundamental right rather than a commodity to be bought and sold. He advocates for the concept of “zero fees, zero education,” asserting that the quality of education should not be tied to the amount of money a person is willing or able to pay. By prioritizing equal access to education for all, regardless of financial means, Dhanush’s message in the film is highlighting the importance of treating education as a public good.

The particular scene the writer would like to highlight is when Dhanush went :

The emotional parent moment

One of the most poignant moments in “Vaathi” occurs during a heart-to-heart conversation between Dhanush and his father. This scene is particularly striking because it portrays a father breaking down emotionally in front of his child. In this emotionally charged scene, the father imparts a valuable life lesson, stating that when a child desires something and is unable to obtain it, they may cry for a day.

However, as parents, when we are unable to provide for our children, we carry that burden for a lifetime, causing deep and lasting pain. This powerful moment underscores the sacrifices and struggles that parents often face in trying to provide for their children’s needs and aspirations.

Education should not be taken for granted

“Vaathi” features a heartwarming storyline where Dhanush encounters a bright young boy who had given up on his education after his parents’ loss. The boy turned to drugs and alcohol to cope with his pain, but Dhanush saw his potential and encouraged him to return to school.

Through Dhanush’s unwavering support and guidance, the boy overcomes his struggles and becomes a top-performing student. The film then fast-forwards to years later, where the boy has transformed into a successful chief officer. This highlights that education should not be taken for granted and no matter what obstacles come in between – is it important to be resilient.

The Abdul Kaalam tale

A powerful message was conveyed when Dhanush shared the story of Abdul Kalam with the village parents who did not prioritize education for their children and instead assigned them to do household tasks. The story of Abdul Kalam was truly inspiring, and it had a powerful impact on the parents, causing them to realize the significance of education. It was a moving moment that sent shivers down the spine, and it transformed the parents’ perception, encouraging them to value education for their children.

Dedication of a teacher

During an audio launch, Dhanush also spoke about the challenges of being a teacher. In the film, he was abandoned by the villagers due to an internal dispute, yet he remained determined to help his students pass their exams and succeed. To achieve this, he conducted virtual classes in a theater, taking a significant risk for his students’ benefit. His unwavering dedication and commitment to his student’s success are truly commendable, despite the obstacles he faced.
