[PART 1] Tamil Movies That Left Us Unsatisfied with Their Endings

We often watch movies and expect a different ending, don’t we?

In this article, we will take a closer look at some of the most memorable Tamil movies and their endings that left us wanting more.

Here are some films that have captured our hearts, but left us feeling unsatisfied with the way the story concluded. Let’s take a look –

Ghajini

The ending of Ghajini could have been much more satisfying if Asin’s character, Kalpana, had not met a tragic end. Throughout the film, it was visible of the strong bond between Kalpana and Sanjay (played by Surya). Unfortunately, the heart-wrenching story took a dark turn when Sanjay lost the opportunity to reveal his true identity, and it was too late to save Kalpana. It left us feeling emotionally drained and wanting different twists instead- maybe a plot where they could have escaped such tragedy.

Moonu

The ending of Moonu starring Dhanush as Ram left many of us unsatisfied as it ended on a sad note with him dying due to his illness. This scene was indeed disturbing and heartbreaking. A better ending could have been to show Ram surviving his illness and leading a happy life with his wife Janani (played by Shruti Hassan).

Raavanan

The conclusion of Raavanan is heart-wrenching. Vikram, who portrays the character of Veera, is blameless and merely seeks justice for his sister, who was raped by some police officers and later on suicide. However, the situation becomes even more complicated when he clashes with Prithviraj Sukumaran’s character, a police officer. In my opinion, Vikram who died in the encounter could have been avoided- in fact, he could have just got his justice or Aishwarya Rai who was the wife of Prithviraj in this film could have saved him by stopping her husband to do so.

Sita Ramam

Sita Ramam is one movie that never failed to leave one with tears. In the scene where Ram plays the role of a loyal Indian army in the end will be sentenced to death. Throughout the film, he shared a beautiful love story with Princess Noor Jahan, which was made even more touching by the fact that she had concealed her royal identity in order to build a genuine relationship with him.

Like many others, I personally had hoped for a different ending where Ram would survive and continue his love story with Noor Jahan. Don’t we share the same sentiment?

Thandavam

The ending of Thandavam was a devastating one. Vikram, who played the role of a blind man named Kenny Thomas, faced unimaginable tragedy when his wife Anushka died in a bomb explosion just as she was about to confess her love for him. Also, during the explosion, Vikram lost his eyesight. Imagine if the story had a twist where Anushka had been given the chance to express her love and if they could have continued their journey together without the tragedy that befell them.

We would love to hear your opinions on movies with unsatisfying endings that you have watched too . Drop us a comment and share it with us.
