Malaysia has a long history of cultural and religious diversity, and nowhere is this more evident than in its many beautiful temples.

One such temple that has been attracting attention in recent years is the Tapah Sai Hill Horse Farm Temple in Perak. Built on a hill overlooking the lush countryside, this temple is a hidden gem that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike.

Varnam Malaysia had the opportunity to visit the hidden Sai Baba temple located at Tapah Sai Hill Horse Farm. Nestled amidst rolling hills and verdant greenery, this temple holds a story like no other. Legend has it that this temple was built on a site that held special significance for Sai Baba.

One of the most interesting things about the temple is the story of how it came to be. Kannan Baba, the founder, and chairman of the Malaysia Shirdi Sai Baba Society discovered a trove of old coins at the Tapah Sai Hill and Horse Farm in Perak during an earthwork.

According to his narration on a banner, he found “9 coins” on 27 March 2017.

9 Significant coins were discovered :

  • One piece of 10-cent British coin minted in 1917, with a mint mark of George V King and emperor of India
  • One piece of one-cent Malaysia coin minted in 1993
  • Three pieces of 10-cent Singapore coins minted in 1982 and 1983
  • Two pieces of 5-cent Singapore coins minted in 1982
  • One piece of 20-cent Singapore coin minted in 1967
  • One piece of 20-cent Brunei coin minted in 1981, with a mint mark ‘ sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’

According to myths, Sai Baba had a special connection with the number 9, and his life was filled with numerous instances where the number 9 played a significant role.

Some believed that the coins were a message from Sai Baba himself, indicating that the temple would be a place of great power and spiritual significance.

In fact, it is written that the land held special significance and that it would bring good luck and wealth to whoever set foot on Sai Hill.

The Malaysia Shirdi Sai Baba Society has greatly preserved the temple and the surrounding area.

If you’re planning a trip to Perak, be sure to add the Tapah Sai Hill Horse Farm Temple to your itinerary. Whether you’re a spiritual seeker or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, this temple is a hidden gem that is not to be missed.

Temple location : Jalan Pahang Kg Batu 5, 35000 Tapah, Perak
