Learning about the solar system and eclipses really does trigger an in-depth interest in everyone. Today, May 5, 2023, marks a penumbral lunar eclipse that will begin at around 11.15pm in Malaysia. This is said to be visible across parts of India, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Indian Ocean, and the Antarctic.

The occurrence of a penumbral lunar eclipse happens when the sun, earth, and moon are imperfectly aligned. In this instance, the Earth blocks some of the sun’s direct light from reaching the moon’s surface and completely or partially casts a shadow on the moon’s surface.

Despite the fact that astronomical phenomena are captivating, eclipse occurrences are often deemed important events in Indian astrology and Vastu Shastra. It is also believed that they have a substantial influence on our lives.

A well-known astrologer, Pankaj Goel, has unveiled a comprehensive list of some dos and don’ts that one must keep in mind during the lunar eclipse phenomenon happening today (May 5).

Dos:

1. Meditate: Lunar eclipses are powerful moments for reflection and spiritual development. Utilise this time to meditate to build a connection with your inner self. Your life will become more clear to you as a result of this.

2. Donate to charity: Donating to charity during a moon eclipse is auspicious. This kind gesture is thought to invigorate you and bring good fortune into your life.

3. Chant mantras: During the moon eclipse, reciting mantras can help you align your energy with the universal force. In this period of change, this can assist you in remaining composed and focused.

4. Take a bath: Bathing is advised before and after a moon eclipse. You can purify your body and mind and let go of any negative energy by doing this.

Don’ts:

1. Avoid eating during the eclipse: According to Vastu Shastra, eating during a lunar eclipse may be harmful to your health. Avoid eating anything during this time if at all possible.

2. Avoid making any significant decisions: Lunar eclipses are times of transformation and change. Since it can be challenging to see things clearly at this time, it is best to avoid making any significant decisions.

3. Refrain from travelling: Moon eclipses can impede travel. Avoid travelling during this time if at all feasible.lunar eclipse moon astrology Getty Images

To sum up, the lunar eclipse happening today can be a potent period for transformation and personal growth.

“You may make the most of this celestial event and attract positive energy into your life by adhering to these dos and don’ts.” Pankaj Goel remarked.
