Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre (“SKSMC”) partnered with Make-A-Wish Malaysia, a non-profit organisation, to support its mission to provide hope, strength, and joy to children battling life-threatening diseases through its Make-A-Wish 2023 Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

This annual fundraising event is aligned with the hospital’s core values of serving communities. By partnering with Make-A-Wish Malaysia, SKSMC hopes to reach more children battling life-threatening diseases and provide them with both emotional and financial support for their overall well-being.

In keeping with this, SKSMC joins Make-A-Wish Malaysia in bringing positive impact and transformation to the lives of these critically ill children. As one of the main sponsors, SKSMC had donated a total of RM25,000 to grant the wishes of children.

Make-A-Wish Malaysia Royal Patron Her Royal Highness Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah binti Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah said, “As the Royal Patron, I have watched Make-A-Wish Malaysia grow from strength to strength, reaching bigger milestones each year.  All these would not have been possible without donors such as Southern Acids (M) Berhad  and Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre who placed their trust in Make-A-Wish Malaysia. For that, we thank you.

“With the pandemic years behind us, Make-A-Wish Malaysia resumed our mission and is set to grant 160 wishes this year. That’s at least 3 wishes per week – a tall order for a team of just five staff but with your continuous support, we are confident of providing a life changing wish experience to these 160 families around the country.”

Make-A-Wish Malaysia Chairman of the Board Datin Linda Ngiam said, “On behalf of the  Board and staff of Make-A-Wish Malaysia, I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to our main event sponsors; Southern Acids (M) Berhad and Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre for  standing by our tournament for the 2nd year. With such an amazing combination, we are  confident to achieve our 2023 goal.”

SKSMC Hospital Director Madam Tan Suet Gan said, “SKSMC is truly honoured to serve  as the main sponsor of the 2023 Make-A-Wish Charity Golf Tournament. Through this  initiative, we wish to support Make-A-Wish Malaysia’s mission to provide life-changing hope, strength, and joy to children battling life-threatening medical conditions. As a hospital that values patient care and well-being, we believe that hope can be a powerful motivator for children in need of fortitude and comfort. Together with Make-A-Wish, we are on a quest to be a beacon of light by granting the wishes of children from all walks of life.”

This year marks the 13th anniversary of Make-A-Wish Malaysia and their milestone of granting over 800 wishes since 2010.
