The King of Bollywood is all set to release his upcoming Atlee-directed film Jawan after the roaring success of Pathaan, fans are even more excited to watch his films. This will be the first time that SRK has collaborated with the Tamil filmmaker Atlee. Fans of both the director and SRK are eagerly waiting for updates on the film. Set to be a socially conscious action entertainment, the film is preparing to be released worldwide on September 7.
SRK went on Twitter to answer a few of his fans queries, and one worried fan asked why the film Jawan was not being promoted enough. The ever-witty SRK retorted back, “The fact that you are asking about Jawan is promotion enough!” From this, it can be understood that the hype around the film is palpably real. SRK also announced on Twitter that he was planning on watching the film with the director himself, Atlee. Apart from Jawan, SRK is also starring in Dunki alongside Taapsee Pannu, and directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
This will be Atlee’s debut film in Bollywood, so his fans, who have been more familiar with his blockbuster hits in Tamil, are eagerly waiting to watch what he has in store for them with this action flick. Atlee had been a prodigy under director Shankar, working under him as an assistant director for hit films such as Enthiran and Nanban. Atlee debuted as a director with the massively successful Raja Rani film starring Nayanthara, Arya, Nazriya, and Jay. But the film that really brought him great accolades was the blockbuster hit film Mersal, starring Thalapathy Vijay. Atlee is a seasoned director who knows how to deliver entertaining, commercially successful films. So expectations are really high for his Bollywood debut, as this film will feature King Khan himself.
Yes, I do. It is the antagonist’s role. I’ve known Atlee for a long time. But I’ve never worked with him until now. When he offered me Jawan I immediately said yes to work with Shah Rukh Khan.”
– Vijay Sethupathi
Vijay Sethupathi will be playing an antagonistic role in this film, opposing SRK. He was approached by Shah Rukh Khan, who met Vijay at Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s wedding and expressed great enthusiasm to work with him. When asked about the villain of his film, SRK states that “Vijay is too cool in Jawan.” Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone will also appear in the film in cameo roles. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, Sunil Grover, Sanjay Dutt, Riddhi Dogra, Riyaz Khan, and others.
