The announcement of “Indian 2” from the combo of director Shankar and Kamal Haasan had received massive celebration and it was added to the most awaiting movie list of Tamil cinema industry. After the success of “Vikram” the blockbuster hit with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Kamal Haasan has commenced with the shooting of “Indian 2”. It is the sequel to their earlier film “Indian” and brings back Kamal Haasan in the lead role. “Indian 2” is expected to continue the story of the vigilante fighting corruption. The movie also includes a number of famous artists line up such as Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Delhi Ganesh, Bobby Simha and many more. Anirudh is the music composer of the movie.
Shankar and Kamal Haasan have worked together on multiple films, producing some of the most memorable and popular films in Indian cinema. Their partnership unites Shankar’s experience directing visually spectacular and technically brilliant films with Kamal Haasan’s diverse acting abilities. The film “Indian” (1996) is one of their most memorable collaborations. Kamal Haasan played both the father and the son characters which is equally important and opposite from each other in this film. “Indian” explores themes of corruption, social inequality, and the need for vigilante justice. The film depicts the narrative of an ex-freedom warrior who evolves disillusioned with society’s corruption and resolves to take issues into his own hands. “Indian” was a critical and commercial triumph, and it is regarded as a landmark film in Tamil cinema.

Apart from being a politician and actor, Udhayanidhi Stalin had also emerged as a film producer in cinema industry. He owns a very well known production company called “Red Giant Movies” who also producing “Indian 2” along with “Lyca Production” as well. As the movie is about to wrap up its shooting within 20 days, Udhayanidhi reveals an exciting news that “Indian 3” might happen.
It was said that director Shankar has many unused footages for the sequel which could be a source for “Indian 3“. Kamal Haasan was also glad about it. However, Udhyanidhi Stalin also clearly pinned the point that they haven’t decide anything at the moment. It all depends on the outcome and feedback of “Indian 2“. The movie is planned to be released in April 2024. If the movie is well received and secure its place to stand out in the Tamil cinema industry, then the fans could expect for the continuation of the next chapter of the movie.
