Malaysian Tamilar Kural which is known as “Malaysia Tamilar Kural Aravariyam” in Tamil is an organization based in Seberang Perai, Penang. This is a well known organization among Indians in Kedah and Penang. The main objective of establishment is to mobilize activities that encourages the development of the Tamil community in Malaysia in general. They emphasize the necessities, development and enlightenment of the Indian community in Malaysia. The vision of Malaysian Tamilar Kural is to produce a progressive, independent and responsible Malaysian Tamil society. They are here to assist and guide the society to develop themselves as development is much important. We should not just sustain in a place or situation. We should enhance ourselves and move towards a higher goals. Meanwhile the mission of the organization is to strive continuously to be the voice of the Tamil community in Malaysia.

Malaysia’s Indian community is estimated to account up 7-8% of the total population. They are mostly descended from Tamil-speaking South Indians who immigrated to Malaysia during the British colonial era. Indians began migrating to Malaysia as early as the nineteenth century, when the country was under British control. Many of them were brought in as indentured laborers to work on rubber plantations and on railways. Following the end of indentured labour in the early twentieth century, many Indians willingly migrated for various economic prospects.

The Indian community has made major economic contributions to Malaysia. Many Indians work in a variety of industries, including trade, commerce, banking, manufacturing, transportation, and services. They are also important in the Malaysian entertainment sector. The Indian community places a significant emphasis on education. Many Malaysian Indians have achieved success in industries such as as education, medicine, engineering, law, and business. In addition, they have also built educational institutions, such as schools and universities, to meet the community’s requirements.

The Indian population in Malaysia, like any other minority community, has social obstacles such as employment, representation, and cultural preservation. Various organisations and community leaders have made efforts to address these concerns and enhance the well-being of the Indian community. Hence, Malaysian Tamilar Kural is one of the organization which works towards the enhancement of the Indian community in Malaysia. They always conduct effective events which contributes to the society in anyways, voice out for the society upon social issues and initiate many other things.

In that case, the organization is conducting a seminar called “Seminar Hala Tuju Pengajian Selepas SPM” which is spreading awareness and guide the SPM leavers in choosing a better pathway which suites them after SPM. There are few different pathways which students could choose such as STPM, Diploma, Matriculations and others. But students doesn’t know full information about the benefits, year of studying, list of courses and available field of jobs upon completing higher studies from the particular pathway. This lack of clarification makes them worry about choosing their next step after SPM as it contributes to their future progress. They are not confident enough about their option as they are not fulfilled with the proper information about the choice they opted. For those students, Malaysian Tamilar Kural heard you and all set to provide you a clear picture about your next step.

This seminar is taking place at SG, Academy Ballroom, Kuala Lumpur on the 15th July 2023. the event will begin at 8.30am and will be finishing at 1pm tentatively. During the seminar, students will be provided with briefing about re-seat of SPM, STPM, online UPU application, Community College, Polytechnic, and TVET. This will help the students to go through all the choices and choose which is best for them. This will encourage them to make better decisions because they will be confident about their decision as they are familiar with it. This initiative is much appreciated as it will be a great guidance for all the SPM leavers. The details of the event are provided below.
