It enhances the overall cinematic experience by adding depth, emotion, and intensity to the storytelling. Tamil film composers are known for their exceptional talent in creating memorable and impactful background scores. Background music in Tamil films is composed to complement the narrative, characters, and emotions portrayed on screen. It sets the mood for different scenes, be it romantic, action-packed, suspenseful, or melancholic. The BGM heightens the tension during thrilling sequences, adds depth to emotional moments, and amplifies the impact of dialogue and visual elements.

D.Imman demonstrated a scene from top 3 movies, with and without BGM.  First a raw clip with just dialogues and actions were shown then followed by a completed scene after editing and adding background score which gave goosebumps to the scene. Top 3 movies which were chosen are “Annaathe”, “Jilla” and “Viswasam”. Imman’s music composition and background score for these three movies were one of the films   that have been lauded for their exceptional BGM, and standalone soundtrack albums featuring the background score have become popular among music enthusiasts.
