Yasshmita Jadishkumar is a Malaysian professional squash player who was born on July 28, 2004, in Johor. In July 2023, she was ranked 96th in the world. The growing Yasshmita is on fire after winning back-to-back PSA titles in Australia. The Negeri Sembilan player, who won the Shepparton championship in Victoria on July 9, won the Victoria Open on 16 July 2023.

In the final, the second seed, Yasshmita defeated South Korea’s joint ninth seed, Hoe Ming Yeong, 11-7, 11-9, 5-11, 5-11, 11-9. Yasshmita defeated Hong Kong’s sixth seed Wai Sze Wing 11-7, 11-8, 5-11, 10-12, 11-9 in the semi-finals, while Ming Yeong defeated Japan’s eighth seed Risa Sugimoto 11-9, 5-11, 11-7, 11-8.

Yasshmita, who earned a first-round bye, defeated Australia’s Erin Classen in the second round, 12-10, 11-9, 8-11, 13-11, and M. Remashree in the final eight, 11-7, 11-7, 11-6.

Meanwhile, C. Ameeshenraj of Bristol defeated Duncan Lee in the WSF Satellite No. 6 final at the Astaka Courts in Petaling Jaya, 11-3, 11-7, 7-11, and 11-3. Wong Heng Wai of Kedah won the women’s championship by defeating Goh Zhi Xuan 11-5, 11-4, 11-4.

The quote “Some people want it to happen; some wish it would happen; others make it happen” by Michael Jordan implies that some people want and wish for things. Then some try to do something to make it happen. You can achieve something in your life if you are passionate about it. If the past is anchoring you, then you must let it go because keeping regrets and disappointments will not help you make things happen. If you want to make something happen, then start working for it and earning it; that is the method by which Yasshmita earned the squash title.

Congratulation Yasshmita to make it happen!
