Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, our 10th prime minister who also carries the role of Finance minister, has introduced loads of initiatives which are favorable for Malaysians. Adding on to that, prime minister in his speech during the launch of the “Ekonomi Madani: Memperkasa Rakyat” (Madani Economy: Empowering the People) project in Kuala Lumpur today, 27th July 2023, had announced that Malaysian citizens above 21 years old with an annual pay of below RM100,000 will be entitled to receive RM100 e-wallet. This event took place at the Securities Commissions Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Sekuriti Malaysia).
“All Malaysian citizens aged 21 and above earning RM100,000 and below in annual wages will receive a RM100 e-wallet incentive from the government”, said the prime minister.
This would consist most of the B40 and M40 category citizens.
“The estimated number of eligible recipients is expected to be around 10 million people comprising those of the B40 and M40 with allocations of around 1 billion Ringgit.”, Datuk Seri Anwar added.
Anwar also emphasised the success of the recent eBeliaRahmah (eBR) plan, adding that it not only benefited two million adolescents but also aided the business sector to create income in addition to building a cashless society.
He stated that this incentive was motivated by the previous e-wallet credit rollout program’s success and considerable impact. Hence, this would be a new initiative from the continuation of his recent implementations which are being a huge helping hand for our Malaysians. The welfare and well-being of every category of the nation are being focused by the government. The government is continuously progressing in providing more necessary facilities for the citizens.
Additionally, the government will also allocate RM300 for each civil servant with Grade 56 and below as a part of a special one-off incentive. On other hand, retirees and pensioners will be receiving RM200 as well.
“This special incentive will benefit some 1.3 million employed civil servants including those employed contractually and over a million pensioners.”, said prime minister.
Notably, the government started distributing RM200 in the form of e-cash credit last month as part of the e-Tunai Belia Rahmah scheme, which involves around two million teens aged 18 to 20, with a total budget of RM400 million. Malaysians are truly grateful for the concern of the government and initiatives taken towards the development of the society.
