Thankar Bachan was well-known for his effort to depicting villages in North Tamil Nadu that were not adequately shown in Tamil cinema. His plots were largely placed in Panruti and the nearby villages. After Bharathiraja, villages were best portrayed in Thankar Bachan movies.

In addition to filmmaking, he occasionally contributes to literary works. Onbathu Roobai Nottu and Ammavin Kai Pesi are two of his novels. He then adapted these novels into films under his own direction.

Some of Thankar Bachan’s notable films include “Azhagi” (2002), “Solla Marandha Kadhai” (2002), “Pallikoodam” (2007), “Onbadhu Roobai Nottu” (2007), and “Kalavaadiya Pozhuthugal” (2017). After a long gap, the director is back in direction.

He has directed a film named “Karumegangal Kalaigindrana” which includes Bharathiraja and Gautham Vasudev Menon, popular directors in the Tamil cinema industry. Bharathiraja is a renowned Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer, primarily known for his work in the Tamil film industry.
