Hiphop Tamizha Adhi, whose full name is Adhithya Ramachandran Venkatapathy, is an Indian musician, rapper, composer, and playback singer. He gained prominence as one half of the music duo “Hiphop Tamizha,” which he formed with his friend R. Jeeva. Adhi is particularly known for his contribution to the Tamil film industry and his role in popularizing the genre of Tamil hip-hop.
Adhi developed an interest in music from a young age and was drawn to hiphop and rap music. In 2012, he and his friend Jeeva founded the musical duo and released their debut album “Hiphop Tamizhan,” which featured the viral hit “Club le Mabbu le.”
This song marked the beginning of their journey in blending traditional Tamil music elements with contemporary hiphop beats and rap lyrics, creating a unique and catchy sound. The duo achieved significant success, impressing both the general public and critics alike. While they initially operated as independent musicians, their focus shifted towards composing music for films starting in 2013.
Adhi as a prominent figure in the Tamil music industry. He continued to collaborate with various filmmakers and composed music for numerous films, including “Aambala,” “Indru Netru Naalai,” “Meesaya Murukku,” and more. “Natpe Thunai” and “Meesaya Muruku” are his notable films which he played lead role.
Apart from music, Adhi debuted as a director through “Meesaya Muruku” movie which he also wrote and acted in it. The film, a semi-autobiographical musical drama, explored his journey in the music industry and received positive responses from audiences.
His music has managed to break barriers and gather a massive fan base, especially among the youth. Their innovative fusion of Tamil folk and hip-hop rhythms has brought a fresh perspective to the music scene.
Adhi’s success has also been recognized with awards and accolades, cementing his position as a leading music composer and rapper in the Tamil film industry. Stepping forward in his life, Hiphop Tamizha started doing his doctorate in PhD in Music Entrepreneurship at the Bharathiar Government University in Coimbatore. Adhi dedicated himself for almost five years to a research study which he successfully concluded this year. Yesterday, he was awarded his doctoral degree by the state governor RN Ravi during the university’s 38th convocation ceremony.
The captivating photo of Adhi receiving his doctorate has taken the internet by storm, quickly becoming a viral sensation on social media platforms. He has been overwhelmed with wishes from family, friends and celebrities as well. Adhi stated that,
5 years of hard work has paid off today. It makes me happy. I am currently active in acting and production. Soon I am going to focus on music.
His upcoming movie is “PT Sir”.
