Special attention is given to underprivileged students through scholarship programs and mid-day meal schemes to ensure they receive adequate nutrition and support for their educational journey. The government’s commitment to nurturing young minds reflects its dedication to creating a brighter future for Tamil Nadu’s youth. Currently, the Tamil Nadu government has chosen 22 outstanding government school students who perform well in their academics and honoured them by giving a golden opportunity to visit Malaysia and Singapore. Its a token of appreciation for the students which would be a beneficial trip for them.

Malaysia and Singapore are one of the countries which have many Indian community who gives importance to Tamil education. Tamil education are also in quite good state in these countries. Most of the Indians can read, write and speak Tamil fluently. Its like a second home for Indians from India. Students who perform well in school, state and national level academic and curricular activities were chosen for this educational trip.

They landed here in Kuala Lumpur on 5th September. They had visited the National Science Center which is popularly known as “Pusat Sains Negara“. Pusat Sains Negara would have offered an enriching educational trip for the students, fostering curiosity through interactive exhibits on science and technology and inspiring a passion for innovation.

Batu Caves Temple in Malaysia, a renowned Hindu pilgrimage site, boasts massive limestone caves adorned with colorful statues and shrines, offering a stunning blend of spirituality and natural beauty which serves as the pride of Malaysia. Batu Caves Temple would serve as the best place for an educational trip by providing insights into Hindu culture, history, and natural formations, promoting cultural understanding and environmental appreciation among students.

The students also visited University Malaya on 6th September. Universiti Malaya serves as one of the oldest university and the primary platform which offers courses for Tamil education in the tertiary education. They have Department of Indian Studies in University Malaya.

The Head Of Department of the Department of Indian Studies, Universiti Malaya, DR Sivapalan Govindasamy stated that, “The students have learned about the courses offered in Department Of Indian studies and their syllabus on what do they cover. They also were keen to know on what are the choices and procedures for academic scholars and students from Tamil Nadu to further their studies in Malaysia.”
