Dhruv Vikram is one of the most exciting new talents to emerge in Kollywood. Born on September 23, 1997, the 26-year-old has worked on and is signed to work on some of Kollywood’s most exciting projects. The young star, who is the son of award-winning and acclaimed actor Vikram, is very quickly following in the footsteps of his father and carving out his own niche space in the world of cinema.
Dhruv debuted in Tamil cinema with Adithya Varma, the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy. The film has garnered praise for keeping true to the source material and for the exceptional performance of Dhruv, which earned him the award of Best Debut Actor from the Cine Awards Tamil and the 13th Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards.
Dhruv had also worked alongside his massively talented father, Vikram, in the film Mahaan, which was directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film was praised for its exceptional plot, music, cinematography, and editing, but especially for its astounding performances by both Vikram and Dhruv. Critics had noted how the young Dhruv’s performance could hold equal weight next to the seasoned and experienced artistry of Vikram.
The young rising talent is all set to work in a film with the critically acclaimed Mari Selvaraj, who has previously directed masterpiece films such as Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan, and recently the hit film Maamannan. The film is based on Manathi Ganesan, an incredibly talented and forgotten kabbadi player who Mari aims to bring to the limelight. This highly anticipated film has made fans expect even more vigour and depth from the young actor, who will doubtlessly deliver on this expectation.
