Chandramukhi 2 is the sequel to the hit 2005 film Chandramukhi, which starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika in pivotal roles. The film is directed by P. Vasu, the director of the first Chandramukhi film. The second installation will see both Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut as its stars. The Bollywood actress has shared that she will be playing the role of Chandramukhi.
Kangana clarified that Jyothika has previously played the character of Chandramukhi as a ghost, while Kangana will be playing the actual role of Chandramukhi. Lakshmi Menon will play the role of the possessed woman, paralleling Jyothika’s role in the original Tamil adaptation of the film.
Jyothika has expressed her well wishes to the Bollywood actress for the film. The actress had actually won several accolades for her unforgettable performance in the film; some of these awards include the Tamil Nadu State Film Award, Kalaimamani Awards, and the Film Fans’ Association Award.
The score of the film was composed by MM. Keeravani, who had recently been awarded the Oscar for Naatu Naatu for Best Original Song. The song was part of the film RRR, for which MM. Keeravani composed music.
