As Deepavali approaches, the vibrant spirit of the festival permeates the air in Malaysia, with bustling bazaars adorning every city. With just a month to go before the grand celebration, households across the nation have enthusiastically embarked on their preparations for this auspicious occasion.
The anticipation and excitement of Deepavali can be felt as families and communities come together to embrace the festivities. In every corner of the country, malls are adorned with bazaars which holds colorful decorations, and the aroma of traditional Indian sweets and snacks fills the streets.
In that case, Yayasan Hijrah Selangor has come forward to host a Deepavali Bazaar next month at Padang Chetty, Klang. This bazaar The upcoming bazaar is set to unite a total of 100 entrepreneurs from the Indian community, according to Najwan Halimi, the state executive councillor responsible for entrepreneurship.
Najwan Halimi, who oversees entrepreneurship in the state, has revealed this exciting development regarding the forthcoming bazaar. This event promises to be a dynamic platform that will bring together a diverse group of 100 entrepreneurs hailing from the Indian community. These individuals are poised to showcase their businesses, products, and services, creating a vibrant marketplace that celebrates the festival with the purchase of all the necessary things which they need.
He mentioned that the Selangor Indian Entrepreneur Development (SITHAM) program will take care of the necessary business permits for those participating in the bazaar. Additionally, ‘Sitham’ will also offer support in terms of providing essential business equipment such as tents.
“We are looking to get least 50 and a maximum of 100 traders to participate in this bazaar. The applications will open in two weeks,” he stated after officiating the closing ceremony of the 2023 Super TikTok Strategy Course.
Approximately 40 entrepreneurs hailing from the Indian community in Klang participated in the course offered by ‘Sitham’. During this event, Normaiza Yahya, who is currently the acting CEO of Hijrah, was also present.
Normaiza shared that Hijrah is initiating the application process for the i-Bermusim scheme in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration. This scheme provides an opportunity for individuals to access capital loans amounting to as much as RM20,000. Interested parties can submit their applications either at their nearest branch or through the online application portal.
The i-Bermusim program made its debut in the prior year, coinciding with the onset of Ramadan, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and the fruit season.
In the presentation of the Selangor Budget for 2023 on November 25 of the preceding year, a substantial allocation of RM130 million was allocated to empower Hijrah in enhancing the program and fostering the growth of entrepreneurs. Hence, Hijrah has taken this initiative to support Indian entrepreneurs and provide the Indian community with convenience to have their Deepavali shopping under one roof.
