For those who attended Tamil schools, the experience is unlike any other. However, it is a sad truth that they are no longer able to enhance such experiences since Tamil schools in Malaysia is slowly fading. One of the most significant issues for Tamil schools in Malaysia is that they operate on a limited budget, resulting in a lack of suitable infrastructure, instructional facilities, and competent instructors.
To address this issue, Gobio, a Malaysian Indian-origin group, has arranged a large fund-raising event to assist under-enrolled Tamil schools in the nation. According to Gobio Chairman S. Gunasekaran, this fundraising event will take place on December 2nd at the World Trade Center Merdeka Arena. Gobio has been working for many years to enhance the educational quality of pupils in Tamil schools with less students.
He stated the purpose of this celebration is to purchase critical equipment such as smart TVs, projectors, sports equipment and laptops. Gobio seeks to improve students’ educational experiences. They have previously assisted several Tamil schools. He stated that they will continue to assist numerous schools next year.
Gobio requested Human Resources Minister Sivakumar to preside over and sponsor this dinner function aimed at assisting Tamil school pupils. Gobio Chairman S. Gunasekaran, Gobio International Secretary Ravindran, Malaysia Gobio Sasitharan, and Siva made HR Minister Sivakumar a courtesy call and handed over the invitation.
Tamil schools deserves precedence since they play such important roles in our culture, and studies show that we learn better in our home tongue. Tamil is the mother tongue of the Tamil school children. As a result, it stands to reason that their early education should also be in Tamil.
Once a firm foundation has been established, the medium of instruction may change. In their reforming enthusiasm, many English-educated Tamils overlook the critical function of Tamil schools. It is not just about preventing the extinction of Tamil schools, but also about preserving our mother tongue.
