Earlier today, A two-month-old baby died on board an AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Perth. The airline confirmed that there was a “medical emergency” involving an infant on flight D7236, which departed Kuala Lumpur at 12.05am.
A team of medical specialists and the Western Australia (WA) Police arrived at Perth International Airport upon the arrival of the plane.
“In accordance with procedure, the flight crew requested medical emergency assistance on landing at Perth International Airport.”
Nadia Parenzee who was a passenger on board the AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Perth this morning said the two-month-old infant who died en route to Perth from Kuala Lumpur this morning was crying a lot.
The airline however did not release other details about the incident.
“We are unable to comment further on the infant’s medical situation, however our thoughts are with the infant and family involved,” AirAsia said.
Australia’s ABC News said officers were investigating the incident and would prepare a report as soon as they can. The police also said that there was nothing to suggest there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
