Shereen Samson Vallabouy, the country’s track queen, is currently focusing on improving her 400-meter record, which will allow her to compete in the Paris Olympics in 2024. Shereen, who now owns the 400m national record of 51.80 and is on a six-week season break, believes the record may be broken when the new season begins in February of next year.
For now I will focus on on the 400m first because the time record can be even faster. Shereen said when she won the bronze medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games with a record of 52.58s.
She wanted to strive to enhance her speed in the 200m so that she could go further in the global standard. However, the 400m was her first option, and if the 200m came up at the same time, she wanted to do it as well. Shereen, who is based in the United States, is set to begin the new season next year by competing in a number of contests that provide points towards Paris 2024.
That’s my target to the Olympics. It’s my dream and hopefully I can do it.
She also mentioned that in order to get ranked, she will compete in ten events. If it is an international tournament, the points may be higher, if it is a local event, the points may be lower, and it is preferable for her to participate in tournaments outside of the country. Shereen, 25, now owns three national records in 400m and 200m in 23,33s, and the first indoor 400m in 53.79s.
