The Ashta Bandana Maha Kumbhabhisheka Vaibhavam will be celebrated in a very spectacular fashion on Sunday 19th of November from 9.30 am to 10.30 am at the freshly erected Sri Maha Durgaiyamman Temple close to the 140 feet high statue of Lord Muruga towering in the sky at the Batu Caves Shrine.
Tan Sri R. Nataraja, President of Sri Maha Mariyamman Temple Devasthanam, stated that all preparations are being undertaken in three stages. He further stated that Shivsree Velayutham Pattar and other priests from our nation would participate in this Kumbabhishekam, which will be led by Archakar Raja from Kumbakonam Pattiswaran Temple in Tamil Nadu.
Around 10,000 devotees are offered alms after the Maheswara on that day. In this situation, daily morning and evening pujas will be conducted on November 15th at 6 pm, along with Vasthu Shanti Puja. This will be followed by the building of Yagasala, the installation of Vimana Kalasa, and the placement of gold and silver on Friday, November 17, at 9 am.
The public can also join in the original idol’s oil pouring ritual on November 18, Saturday, from 9 am to midnight. A concert featuring Tamil Nadu and local artists has also been planned for the first evening and second day of Kumbabhishegam. As a result, all devotees are cordially invited to join the Kumbhabhishegam ceremony in great numbers.
