Tailors Embrace The Challenges That Come With Deepavali Seasonal Orders With Skill And Dedication

During the Deepavali season, many of us are busy shopping for our festival outfits. If we need tailor-made sarees, we make sure to visit the tailor about a month in advance to secure their availability for our saree stitching. However, seldom do we consider the sheer volume of garments these tailors craft during this celebratory period.

It’s a busy time for tailors who work tirelessly behind the scenes. As customers, we focus on our individual attire, but collectively, these skilled artisans handle an immense workload. They stitch numerous outfits, not just sarees, but also a variety of traditional and modern clothing for the festivities. The demand for their craft peaks during this period, reflecting the cultural significance placed on attire during Deepavali.

Recognizing the tireless efforts of these artisans adds another layer of appreciation for the vibrancy and beauty that Deepavali attire brings to the celebrations. The festive season poses the most demanding period for them. The workload becomes incredibly intense and overwhelming. Balancing high demand and intricate tasks creates a hectic environment, testing their skills and dedication to meet customers’ needs during this bustling time.

“During festive seasons, our workload will be more challenging as we will be receiving many orders to stitch variety of clothes. But at the same time, this is the season where we could earn good income as well. So, we tend to spend more time on our work to complete every order on time. Stitching the clothes according to the customers’ preference and requirements is quite challenging job as every customer will have different requirement”, said Kalpana Bhai Krishna Rao, the owner of a tailor shop.

For example, one of our regular customer requested us to complete stitching their clothes as soon as possible since they needed it immediately. We did not say “no” to them, she added.

The tailors are required to put in an additional 3 to 4 hours beyond their regular working schedule during this season.

Nevertheless, we’re wholeheartedly dedicated to our craft. With Deepavali just around the corner, we take joy in fulfilling our tasks without feeling it as a burden, expressed the tailor. This commitment showcases their dedication, highlighting the joy they find in delivering quality work despite the added workload during this celebratory period.

Despite the demanding workload of the festive season, these artisans remain steadfastly devoted to their craft, determined to ensure customer satisfaction. Their loyalty to their work shines through, exemplifying their commitment to meeting customer needs even in challenging times.
