Tony Fernandes Honoured As Asia Pacific CEO Of The Year

Tony Fernandes is a Malaysian entrepreneur and the founder of AirAsia, a pioneering low-cost airline in Asia. Fernandes has played a significant role in revolutionizing air travel by making it affordable for millions. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Bhd, named as the ‘Asia Pacific CEO of The Year’ at the Aviation 100 Asia Pacific Awards 2023 in Singapore on 8th November 2023, presented by Airline Economics. Capital A Berhad serves as the investment entity for AirAsia, airasia MOVE (formerly recognized as airasia Superapp), Teleport logistics venture, and Capital A aviation services. It functions as the holding company overseeing the diverse portfolio of these key subsidiaries.

In extending congratulations to Tony, Capital A’s Executive Chairman, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, expressed that this remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the diligence, tenacity, and commitment of every individual within the Capital A team, referred to as Allstars.

The award ceremony took place concurrently with the Airline Economics Growth Frontiers Asia Pacific conference, drawing an audience of around 700 aviation professionals. This ceremony provided a platform for industry experts to convene, fostering networking and collaboration opportunities within the aviation sector as well as recognizing talented individuals for their accomplishments and contributions.

Industry professionals, spanning airlines, lessors, banks, law firms, and other crucial stakeholders, participated in the yearly industry poll conducted by Airline Economics.
