Under the orders of the court, the flower shops outside the Batu Cave temple front were destroyed by the Selayang Municipal Council. It is stated that the notice letters ordering the vendors to evacuate the premises were issued on August 24, 2023.

The court ordered that the land on which the flower shops operated belonged to the Batu Caves Charity organisation and that the Selayang Municipal Council had to clear these stores in order to give the property back to the Batu Caves Charity organisation as emptied and vacant land.

The flower shop owners, who have been operating for years on the land, are questioning what is to happen to their business in the forseeable future. Some are asking if new stores will be built on this land where they can pay rent and operate their businesses, or if their stores will be able to relocate somewhere near the temple.

One seller stated that temporarily the flower shops have been relocated to another place near the temple, and they will be conducting business there for a limited and uncertain period of time.
