Pearly-Thinaah 2023 Season Comes To An End With Their Defeat At The China Masters

Pearly-Thinaah, the World No. 12 Women’s Doubles players, have been defeated by South Korea’s Jeong Na Eun-Kim Hye Jeong at 21-11, 15-21, and 22-20 at the China Masters. As this Malaysian sports duo is not qualified to enter the World Tour Finals that is happening next month, their season this year has abruptly come to an end.

Thinaah stated that they want to overcome the disappointment experienced this year and begin the new season that is upon them next year with more vigour and enthusiasm.
“This year there were ups and downs, but more downs. It’s something we have to overcome and improve on to be better next year. The coming year is very important for us because we have the Olympics coming up. We want to forget this humiliation of this year and begin next year with a more positive outlook.”

Last year, this duo managed to be victorious in the French Open, winning the grand title of champion, but this season has seen a decline in their overall performance, where their best achievements so far have been winning runner-up at the Malaysian Masters and the Hong Kong Open. They had also not been able to defend their championship this year at the French Open due to Pearly’s injury.

The duo had also not participated at the Artic Open or the Denmark Open this year. Thinaah had observably stated that the South Korean team had been braver and more consistent in their form compared to them. While it is disappointing to see the end of their season this year, we can still remain pragmatic and steadfast that this amazing duo will bounce back even stronger next year, having learned valuable lessons from their defeats this season.
