Palestine has been under the brutal occupation of the illegal and colonial state of Israel since the inception of the Zionist nation in 1948. The region of Gaza, which has been heavily bombed by Israel since the beginning of the war on October 7, has progressed exponentially in violence, with many Palestinian civilians being targeted by Israel. In order to aid the Palestinian masses, the Subang Estate’s Devi Sri Maha Mariamman Temple has donated RM 10,000 to AAKRP, an organisation that collects humanitarian relief funds for Palestinians.
As stated by the temple’s founder, Vijayan, the money for the donation had been collected in two months by them from the many residents that lived in Subang Estate. He further expressed that this was the first time the temple had collected funds for a humanitarian cause and that the temple will continue to collect funds for Palestine in the future as well.
The temple also organises relief funds for those who have been affected by floods, which are caused by the climate crisis. Along with that, they also provide educational funds for students who are in dire need of financial aid.
