19-year-old, Seremban-born Ameeshenraj Chandaran has won against Ireland in the opening Group A match at the men’s World Team Squash Championship in Tarunga, New Zealand. The young rising star had defeated Ireland’s Oisin Logan with a score of 11-9, 11-4, 11-4.
Malaysia’s Addeen Idrakie lost the opening match to Sam Buckley at Devoy Glass Court with a score of 11-9, 11-4, and 11-6. While Sanjay Jeeva, the US-based Malaysian athlete, brought Malaysia back with a score of 11-9, 11-7, and 11-3 against Sean Conroy.
One of Ameeshenraj’s most notable achievements in his professional sports career so far has been winning the 2023 PSNS President’s Trophy tournament of the world tour.
