The young and brilliant 5-year-old Bhaaviinn Sathiaseelan has been awarded the prestigious Malaysian Book of Records for identifying 56 international flags in a minute. This little one’s inquisitive nature in the world of flags began at the age of two, during the pandemic, when many were cooked up in their homes. He would always seek educational and captivating materials that would teach him more about flags, even becoming devoted to a YouTube video called “Guess the Flag.” His supportive and encouraging family would watch the video with him, amazed by how fast and dedicated his little mind was to learning about flags. By the age of three, he could name every flag in the world, an impressive and astounding talent exhibited by someone so young. The encouraging educational environment of Cherie Hearts International Preschool was also a space that was conducive to his ambitious and developing mind.

Bhaaviinn’s mother, Renuga Govalan, expresses with pride and love how much her son has grown to love studying and memorising flags. She shares how during the pandemic, both she, a teacher from Crescendo Help International School, JB, and her husband, Ts. Sathiaseelan K. Dorai Raju P. Tech, a facility manager at MDIS, had to concentrate on working from home. Even their eldest child, Thaannyya Sathiaseelan, who has to attend her classes, was preoccupied, yet the little inquisitive Bhaaviinn did not once interrupt his family and was completely absorbed in his flags. The little boy exhibits not only an interest in learning and developing his knowledge but also expresses a sense of individualism and independence where he can guide himself towards attaining it. He would spend his days productively colouring flags and solving flag puzzles, completely and utterly captivated by his fascination with them.

Renuga also goes to express how much gratitude she and her family hold for God for blessing their young Bhaaviinn with such extraordinary and inspiring gifts. She hopes in the future that her son will go on to attain even greater achievements and accolades.

We are truly grateful to God for the gift he bestowed upon us, as Bhaaviinn is the reason for our pride. We pray to God for wisdom and strength so that Bhaaviinn can continue to break records and achieve excellence, and we are incredibly proud of all that he has accomplished.

– Renuga Govalan, mother of Bhaaviinn Sathiaseelan
