Introducing digital learning in primary Tamil school education is crucial in today’s world as it enhances students’ technological literacy, fosters interactive and engaging learning experiences, and prepares them for a digital future. This approach equips children with essential skills, promotes global connectivity, and ensures educational relevance in an increasingly digitalized society.

SJKT Gunong Rapat, a Tamil primary school in Ipoh, Perak, has embraced modern education by equipping every classroom with Smart Boards. This innovative initiative is to enhance teaching and learning experiences, fostering interactive lessons. The implementation of Smart Boards ensures that students benefit from advanced educational technology, preparing them for a digitally driven future.

“The incorporation of smart boards in every classroom at SJKT Gunong Rapat is our commitment to providing advanced teaching and learning facilities. Additionally, our school boasts a well-equipped computer lab, science lab, a comprehensive library, and a spacious field. This comprehensive infrastructure ensures a holistic educational experience, blending modern technology with traditional resources;” says the headmaster of the school Jaya Kumar.

The headmaster also mentioned that the presence of these amenities not only enhances the overall learning environment but also serves as an attractive factor for prospective students and their parents, potentially contributing to a growth in the student population.

In response to numerous requests from Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and political parties, the state government allocated land for the school. Subsequently, the school received funding from the central government, enabling it to undergo intense development and transformation into a well-equipped educational institution. The school was built and developed with allocation of RM 7 million from the central government. This school consists of 128 students.
