This religious observance is dedicated to Lord Murugan, a revered deity in Hinduism. The celebration is marked by fervent gatherings and ritualistic practices at various prominent temples.
Among the noteworthy temples for Thaipusam, Batu Caves Murugan Temple, the Balathandayuthapani Temple in Penang, also renowned as the Thaneer Malai temple, and the Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh stand out. These sacred sites become focal points for devotees seeking to partake in the festivities and express their devotion to Lord Murugan.
During Thaipusam, these temples attract a multitude of worshippers who embark on pilgrimages to fulfill vows.
