AR Rahman has elevated his enchanting compositions to a new milestone in the film “Lal Salaam.” Employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, he ingeniously recreated the voices of the late legendary singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hamed for the song “Thimiri Yezhuda” from the movie. This innovative use of AI demonstrates Rahman’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of musical creativity, preserving the essence of the original voices and incorporating them seamlessly into his mesmerizing composition for “Lal Salaam.”

On Monday, SonyMusic South utilized Twitter to share intriguing details about the track, captivating the audience’s attention. The revelation of such innovative information caused the song to go viral, sparking widespread interest and discussion among listeners. This proactive approach by SonyMusic South not only generated buzz around the song but also contributed to its rapid dissemination across various social media platforms, further amplifying its popularity.

However, this situation sparked concerns within a particular segment of the audience regarding the use of voices from late singers. In response to this, AR Rahman addressed the issue, clarifying that prior permission had been sought from the respective families of the late singers. He emphasized that the families granted their approval for the composition, and adequate remuneration has been duly provided to them. This clarification aims to assure the audience that the process was conducted with sensitivity and respect towards the artists and their families.

We took permission from their families and sent deserving remuneration for using their voice algorithms ..technology is not a threat and a nuisance if we use it right…#respect #nostalgia 🙏 https://t.co/X2TpRoGT3l

This bold and innovative move not only showcases Rahman’s technical prowess but also reaffirms his dedication to preserving the legacy of legendary voices. Despite initial concerns, his clarification on obtaining permissions and providing remuneration reflects a thoughtful approach. As the controversy swirls, Rahman’s innovative composition not only enriches the musical landscape of “Lal Salaam” but also sets a pioneering standard, leaving audiences eager to witness the cinematic and auditory excellence he promises to deliver in the film.
