In a compassionate effort to aid cancer patients, Pertubuhan Anak Watan Muhibbah, under the leadership of President Dr. Thirugnanasambanthar, had established a hair donation booth at Batu Caves in conjunction with the Thaipusam festival this year.
Benefiting from the wholehearted collaboration of the temple committee, the organizers received a warm welcome from enthusiastic devotees eager to contribute to this admirable programme. Many devotees who came to shave their heads as a religious offering to Murugan had donated their hair to this organization. These donated hairs will be collected and sent to China to be processed as wigs for cancer patients. Once that process is completed, the wigs will be redistributed to Malaysia.
The wigs produced will be delivered to Malaysia to benefit those undergoing chemotherapy, with the cancer patients residing in the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital receiving the wigs free of charge.
The organisation expresses its outmost gratitude to the Batu Caves tempel management and trustee Dato Sivakumar for the support and encouragement they have received for their charitable donation camp. Through these selfless hair donations, cancer patients are provided with not only a tangible form of support but also a boost to their self-esteem, fostering a more positive and hopeful outlook in their battle against the illness. This initiative reflects the community’s genuine collective effort to contribute to the well-being of those affected by cancer and to transform their devotion into a more meaningful gesture.
