Experiencing positive load factor performance and heightened demand on its Trivandrum – Kuala Lumpur route, Malaysia Airlines has announced a doubling of its current flight frequency beginning 2nd April 2024. In November 2023, the airline inaugurated its first flight to Trivandrum, initially operating twice weekly, and now plans to increase it to four flights weekly starting April 2024. This strategic decision follows the recent enhancement of flight frequency between Amritsar and Kuala Lumpur, effective 15th January 2024.

The extension of Malaysia Airlines’ services from Trivandrum will substantially enhance the airline’s connectivity within India, resulting in a total of 71 weekly flights. Currently, the airline operates from nine major hubs across the country, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandrum. This strategic move reinforces the airline’s presence and accessibility in the Indian market.

Commenting on these developments, Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), said “India remains an integral part of Malaysia Airlines’ global network. With the introduction of the additional frequencies into Trivandrum, we will be strengthening our connectivity into India with 71 weekly flights from nine key hubs. Furthermore, we are thrilled to introduce special fares for Indian travellers, providing them enhanced flexibility and travel options to explore the beauty of Malaysia; strengthening our position as the gateway to Asia and beyond. As we aim to capture the growing demand from India, we are committed to ensuring that customer experience remains our top priority driven by our inimitable Malaysian Hospitality.”

As Malaysia Airlines positions itself as a gateway to Asia and beyond, this initiative provides travelers with increased flexibility and travel options, encouraging them to embark on enriching journeys and play their part in shaping memorable vacations.
