The Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards (NTFF) is an annual event held in Oslo that recognizes and celebrates the artistic and technical achievements of individuals in the Tamil film industry. Established in 2010 by VN Music Dreams, NTFF serves as a platform to honor excellence in global Tamil cinema. At the 15th Norway Tamil Film Festival, Malaysian Tamil cinema garnered significant acclaim and acknowledgment for its exceptional contributions. The festival bestowed multiple awards and accolades upon Malaysian Tamil films, recognizing their outstanding artistic achievements and creative prowess.

Naam Katra Isai

The film “Naam Katra Isai,” directed by Saresh D7, garnered significant recognition by clinching three prestigious awards at the Norway Tamil Film Festival. The movie, released on November 23, 2023, intricately explores the life of an ordinary musician, shedding light on the challenges inherent in the music industry. “Naam Katra Isai” brings a refreshing perspective to the Malaysian Tamil cinema, featuring Saresh D7 alongside a talented cast, including Yuvaraj Krishnasamy, Irfan Zaini, Alvin Martin, and several other popular artists.

Saresh D7 was honored with the titles of Best Actor and Best Screenplay Writer for his film. The music composer, Boy Radge, earned recognition as the Best Music Director. Saresh, in his directorial debut, achieved a significant triumph by securing the Best Screenplay award. The film’s narrative, skillfully balancing comedy, music, emotional scenes, and outstanding performances from the cast, resulted in a cohesive and well-received blend. Audiences were captivated, remaining engrossed in the story, tied to their seats in theaters. Saresh’s exceptional acting in the movie, portraying the role of a responsible son, a compassionate individual aiding others selflessly, and a talented musician, earned him the well-deserved Best Actor award. He convincingly embodied the character, resonating with the audience. Noteworthy contributions from Yuvaraj, Irfan, and Alvin, who played significant roles, further enriched the movie’s impact.

Furthermore, Boy Radge’s compositions added depth to every scene, evoking consistent emotions from the audience. The background scores throughout the film were commendable. Given that the movie incorporates the word “Isai,” signifying music in its title, audiences naturally anticipate impressive musical compositions. Boy Radge not only lived up to the expectations but also never failed to hold up the pride of the title. The inclusion of live musical instruments in the movie takes it a step further. Each song in the film was uniquely composed, contributing to the overall musical richness of the production.
