Sungai Siput is poised to celebrate the inauguration of Malaysia’s 530th Tamil school, the Heawood Tamil School, scheduled to open its doors on March 11, 2024. This momentous occasion was announced by S. Thiagaraajan, the esteemed head of the school administration. Heawood Tamil School is also the 135th Tamil school in the state of Perak.
Dato Masyati Abang Ibrahim, a prominent figure in the Education Ministry, received the ceremonial key from Vivekanandan, the tenant associated with the school. In a symbolic passing of the torch, Dato Masyati then entrusted the key to the newly appointed school headmaster, T. Ponmani. This act served as a poignant symbol, signifying the commencement of a transformative chapter in Tamil education for Sungai Siput and the nation as a whole.
Thiagaraajan, brimming with enthusiasm, emphasised that the Heawood Tamil School is poised to begin its operations on the anticipated date. Spanning an expansive 6 acres of land, the school is equipped with 12 state-of-the-art classrooms. The Heawood Tamil School stands out as a beacon of progress in Perak, featuring enhanced accessibility and modern facilities meticulously designed to foster a conducive environment for quality Tamil education towards the young generations of the country.
